Hidden gradual damage - Cover for damaged caused by leaking pipe in the wall which causes damage over time
Legal liability - Cover for when you are liable for damage to someone else's property or stuff.
Reduced excess glass breakage - Reduced $250 excess for all glass breakage claims, including mirrors and porcelain.
Excess free blocked pipe - If you have a blocked underground water or sewage pipe, we’ll cover $1000 to unblock it with no excess.
One excess per event - If there’s damage to both your house & contents (e.g. flood), you’ll only pay one excess for both claims.
Honestly, so easy to sign up. I was a little apprehensive as had never heard of Initio, but it was recommended on MoneyHub NZ. The process is easy, although I put the wrong date in to start the policy, customer service were amazing to deal with, fast and helped fix my error in a matter of minutes. I am also a huge shop arounder and for House and Contents together Initio came out cheaper than 4 other major insurers and the policy wordings benefit my family a lot more.
