Position Purpose:

Our Claims Consultants oversee all elements of claims, serving as the technical advisor for our team. Staff primarily report to the Operations Manager but also seek advice from the Claims Manager. A successful Claims Consultant minimises distractions for other team members, who only step in for high-level issues or policy failures.

Regular updates are given to the Operations Manager, and clients are kept informed about their claims. Accurate data recording is essential.

Previous experience as a claims consultant or claims manager is essential. An understanding of how an insurance underwriting agency transacts and operates will be the key to your success.

Key tasks include managing all claim activities, fostering solid relationships with stakeholders, and reporting weekly to the Operations Manager. The role is proactive in refining our claims process, from online client experience to settling authority agreements with underwriters.

Other responsibilities include prompt and professional phone communication, reviewing ongoing work to identify support areas, and carrying out additional duties as directed by the management team.

This role is key to retaining our current clients and winning new business. This position will enhance your existing knowledge in personal lines insurance. You’ll need strong tech skills, good communication, problem-solving abilities, and a basic understanding of insurance underwriting.

Previous experience as a broker support or underwriter support is essential. An understanding of how an insurance underwriting agency transacts and operates will be the key to your success

Daily tasks range from handling phone calls promptly to managing live online chats and customer queries via Zendesk. You’ll negotiate with underwriters, ensure timely follow-up on expired policies, and process refunds. You’ll also assist in content creation, website maintenance, and performance testing.

Strong relationships with underwriters and third-party brokers are vital, as well as offering claims management support when needed. You’ll also handle other support and admin tasks as they arise.
