This role is central to how initio builds strong, long-term partnerships with brokers as we expand into the broker market. You’ll work closely with broker businesses across New Zealand, helping them transition to a smarter, more digital way of doing insurance and get real value from our products and platform. It’s a hands-on, relationship-led role focused on trust, capability, and sustainable growth rather than pure sales.
You’ll lead broker onboarding and platform rollouts, run demonstrations and training sessions, and support brokers through change as they move onto our digital broker platform. Once brokers are live, you’ll be their main point of contact, helping resolve questions across underwriting, renewals, endorsements, claims, and day to day platform use. You’ll also act as a key feedback loop, sharing broker insights with our underwriting, claims, support, and technology teams to help shape ongoing improvements.
You’ll be comfortable building relationships, explaining new ways of working, and being close to the detail. The role is predominantly broker-facing, involves regular travel around New Zealand, and is based out of our Hamilton office. If you enjoy supporting change, working across teams, and helping partners succeed in a digital-first insurance environment, this could be a great fit. Send us an email with a bit about yourself and your CV.
This role is key to delivering a claims experience that genuinely sets initio apart. You’ll take ownership of home, contents, motor vehicle, and landlord claims from start to finish, with a focus on fair outcomes, clear communication, and keeping things moving. Alongside managing your own claims portfolio, you’ll play an important role in shaping how we handle claims across the business.
You’ll lead on complex or higher-value claims where sound judgement and confidence in policy interpretation really matter. Day to day, you’ll work directly with customers, builders, assessors, and suppliers, making decisions based on reports, policy wording, and the wider context of each claim. You’ll also contribute to improving our processes and systems, sharing insights with underwriting and customer experience to help lift outcomes across the board.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Claims and the wider team, providing guidance and mentoring where needed. You’ll be comfortable operating in a digital-first environment, using technology to reduce friction rather than create it. Strong domestic claims experience in New Zealand, empathy under pressure, attention to detail, and a willingness to make the tough calls are all essential.
This role is based in our Hamilton office. If you want to be part of a modern, customer-focused insurance provider that does claims differently, this could be a great fit. Send us an email with a bit about yourself and your CV.
This role is key to building and improving the digital platform that powers initio’s insurance offering. You’ll work across the stack to create simple, reliable tools for our customers and our in-house team. You’ll need at least three years’ experience writing and reviewing production code, strong PHP framework skills (Laravel or similar), and solid frontend web development using modern JavaScript and CSS frameworks.
You’ll be hands on with our core application, switching between customer-facing features and internal tools. Day to day, you’ll work with MySQL and Laravel Eloquent, build and maintain RESTful APIs, and contribute to clean, maintainable code using MVC patterns and Agile practices. You’ll also work with Docker and Kubernetes in shared environments, take part in code reviews, and support automated testing where it adds value.
You’ll be part of a small, friendly development team focused on one product, with room to solve problems in smart, practical ways. You’ll collaborate closely with other teams, own features end-to-end, and help improve how our systems perform and scale as we grow. An interest in data, performance, and continuous improvement will serve you well.
This role is based in our Hamilton office, with hybrid flexibility once you are onboarded. If this sounds like a good fit and you’d like to help shape the future of digital insurance with a growing New Zealand insurance provider, we’d love to hear from you. Send us an email with a bit about yourself and your CV.
This role sits at the heart of how initio supports customers and brokers, combining client support with hands-on underwriting activity. You’ll work closely with underwriters, while also carrying out underwriting tasks yourself, helping keep policies moving and decisions on track. You’ll be confident talking to people, comfortable with detail, and happy working in a fast, digital-first environment.
You’ll handle enquiries across phone, live chat, and online channels, while supporting underwriting activity across new business, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations. This is not a traditional insurance support role. We rely on smart technology to reduce manual work, which leaves more room for proper conversations and better outcomes for customers.
Day to day, you’ll work closely with underwriting, claims, and business development to make sure nothing gets missed. You’ll liaise with brokers and third parties, follow up outstanding information, process policy changes and refunds, and provide claims support when needed by directing enquiries to the right place. You’ll also pitch in with platform testing, website updates, and general operational tasks as required.
You’ll bring experience in underwriting support, broker support, or insurance customer service, along with a solid understanding of how an underwriting agency operates. Clear communication, strong organisation, attention to detail, and a proactive team-first mindset are key. If you enjoy working digitally, getting stuck in, and helping make insurance work better for people, this role could be the one for you. This role is based in our Hamilton office.
